Summer Art Camp: Week 2

Painting;
1. the children completed the 2nd layer of their paintings from Week1 using gesso and new layers of paint;
    Plastic forks added some cool texture; and Theeran used a straw to blow around his blue paint.

Outing of the Week;  Art Gallery of Ontario
~ we saw the Drama & Desire Show; http://www.ago.net/drama-and-desire
~ compared the Group of Seven painters and looked at the modern abstract works
~ we had lunch in the Grange Park and met my art school friend Betty Anne Jordan, a professional Arts Journalist & Tour Guide, http://artinsite.net/
~ closely inspected the Ship Model exhibition; http://www.ago.net/thomson-collection-ship-models
~ climbed the circular stairs; shared carrot muffins and drinks in the lovely cafe








Walks in the Park; 
~ one day; drawing by the edge of the creek
~ another day; drawing with chalk on the bridge- flowers ~ Stories ~ body outlines and jokes! We had created such a cool scene that a young couple stopped by and joined us creating a wonderful imaginary bird.

Summer Art Camp: Week1





Four extraordinary children + Creativity + Yoga = A Summer FUN Art experience


  • this week we had Thiren, Dashrin, Mikka and Sammy attending Art Camp















  • they delved right in and created some amazing things
  • GIANT pastels to loosen up!

  • GIANT pastel designs







  • Yoga and swimming every day were an added bonus! 














  • walks to the park created opportunities for exploring..and PLAY!










  • and since we had an older age group we went to the Science Center for some sketching opportunities; architecture, perspective, and.saw a falcon demonstration...and..you guessed it ~ PLAY!

We created pots with mosaic designs on them; watercolors and paintings with sculptural details using shells and polyfiller.

March Break Art Camp ~ Day 5: Shoe Monsters & Tie-Dye!

AM:  We made rubbings of our shoes and made 'Monsters' of them

LUNCH TIME!! We made individual pizzas from scratch-works of art & YUMMY!!

PM:  Then we made tie-dye T-shirts and a pillow case.

..unfortunately no photos of the finished products were taken before they left for 'home'!

March Break Art Camp ~ Day 4: 'Art Happening' in the Neighborhood!!

AM: Making a difference with chalk in the neighborhood!
~sidewalks, paths and bridges were lit up with magical designs, colorful arrows and directions,  and inspirational words; art to change the spirit of a place with youthful play and exhuberance!!





PM:  Abstract Expressionism on the Lawn...
Anyone driving by our house would have wondered, 'what's up with those kids?? Are they painting the grass??  No ~ they are just making their own Jackson Pollock style paintings; the girls picked pink as a base and boys worked in a black and white theme.
